What's on in Ballina this June

Organic Flow Studio Launch

On Friday 5th June from 5–7pm, we’re opening our doors at Ballina Arts Centre to welcome the community, partners, and supporters who make work like this possible.

Here’s what the evening looks like:

5:00pm: Doors open. Food, drinks, and good company at the Ballina Arts Centre mezzanine bar.

5:30pm: A short welcome and the story behind the studio

5:45–6:45pm: Studio open for free hands-on taster workshops. Come try the equipment for yourself

6:45–7:00pm: Mingle, ask questions, and chat about how we might work together

Organic Flow Studio is Northwest Ireland’s creative technology education hub, a space where young people and adults, including those from marginalised backgrounds and individuals with disabilities and additional needs, get hands-on access to professional audio and visual equipment, from DJing and music production to video editing, animation, and projection mapping. But it’s about more than equipment. It’s about giving people a place to socialise, build real skills, and follow a clear pathway from first try to genuine progression, all through creativity.

This is a free event. No ticket needed, just reply to this email: ryan@organicflow.ie to let them know you’re coming.

Distillation by Luke Casserly

A multi-sensory performance that transports audiences to the Irish bog landscape through scent.

Luke Casserly collaborated with renowned perfumer Joan Woods (Waters + Wild Organic Perfumery) to create a unique essence of the Midlands bog – the place where he grew up – as the starting point for an olfactory encounter exploring our relationship to place. Created in direct response to the cessation of Ireland’s peat harvesting industry, Distillation is dedicated to the future of our broken landscapes – in the hope that by listening to them, we might be able to better understand them The production premiered as part of Dublin Theatre Festival in 2023, and has since toured extensively across Ireland, the USA, and Canada, earning widespread critical acclaim.
