What to Know:

  • Free for everyone – no age or residency restrictions (excludes commercial groups)
  • No need to book in advance, just come along

Weekly Trad Night in Rouse’s Bar Ballina


Enjoy a weekly Trad Night in Rouse’s Bar Ballina every Saturday night from 10pm.

Rouse’s Bar has been a much-loved Ballina institution since 1947. The premises itself has been a pub since 1865, making it one of the town’s oldest bars.

When you visit this traditional Irish bar you will always receive a warm welcome. This bar is a quiet oasis where you can relax and enjoy a great pint amid the gentle hum of conversation.

Rouse’s is a sporting pub, specialising in horse racing, GAA and fishing.

If you’re a fan of trad music, there are regular and well-attended live music sessiúns each Saturday night!

The bar has a separate lounge for private parties and can cater for up to 80 people. This room can also be used for meetings.

So if you’re in the area, drop into Rouse’s where Pat, Maura and family will give you a warm Ballina welcome!

The Clarke Museum of Irish History is delighted to announce that in partnership with Event Audio Visual our Laneways & Sessions evening of music, song and celebration for Mayo Culture Night 2026! On Friday 18th September from 7pm until 9.30pm the lanes of Ballina will be filled with music and song, a celebration of Irish music and culture with something for everyone. So come along and lets make 2026’s Culture Night in Ballina the best yet!

Whispers of the Moy 90 minute Guided Walking Tour

Which part of Ballina’s history intrigues you most? The 1798 Rebellion, local landlords and merchants, or stories of ordinary people during the Civil War and Independence?


Join Whispers of the Moy, a 90-minute guided walking tour, and explore Ballina’s streets, landmarks, and hidden gems while uncovering the stories that shaped the town from 1700’s–1900’s.
